Valley View Medical Center
Valley View Health Care Foundation
The Valley View Health Care Foundation is a grassroots community organization incorporated as a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation in 1977 through the vision of founders, such as Dixie Leavitt, Judge Joseph Jackson, Frankie Lou Bentley, York F. Jones, R. Haze Hunter and others. These community leaders recognized the necessity of an organization that would provide a method of identifying and supporting community medical projects and needs which might not otherwise be available.
How the Foundation Works
The Valley View Health Care Foundation was established for the purpose of raising funds for the enhancement of quality health care, primarily through support to Valley View Medical Center, for individuals needing medical treatment in Iron County regardless of ability to pay. The Foundation exists through a combination of grant funds, both government and private foundations, annual gift giving, specific capital campaigns and community-support efforts such as the annual golf tournament.
Current Projects
- The Foundation is currently involved in a capital campaign to raise $1 million to be used in part of the construction and equipping of a new cancer treatment center to be built on the new hospital campus.
