This award winning 45-minute live production designed for kids in grades 6th–9th. Thought provoking and research proven, LiVe—This Is Your Life! is a rib-tickling funny theater show that is geared to helping kids in grades 6th-9th take charge of growing up healthy and fit.
During the 2008 and 2009 School Assemblies seasons we presented 150 plays at schools all across Utah and in southern Idaho.
LiVe—This Is Your Life! was created by Barbara Storper, MS, RD, executive director of FoodPlay Productions. FoodPlay Productions is an Emmy Award winning organization which produces nationally touring theater shows. The school assemblies include follow-up materials for your students to help support long-term messages.
What participating schools receive.
As part of the LiVe—This Is Your Life! program, schools received a live theater assembly show (45 minutes) for students in grades 6th–9th. We typically performed for recommend 100 to 400 students per audience. Smaller schools sometimes combined with other nearby schools at a single location.
In addition to the assembly, schools received a comprehensive set of follow-up materials for students, teachers, parents, and health staff, to help extend the nutrition and health messages throughout the year. Each school will receive a LiVe—This Is Your Life! School Resource Kit providing fun, hands-on lesson plans and reproducible activity sheets to follow up on the enthusiasm generated by the show.
LiVe—This Is Your Life! is brought to local schools by SelectHealth and Intermountain Healthcare. Together, SelectHealth and Intermountain are committed to providing this preventative health education program to the communities they serve. The LiVe campaign's goal is to change attitudes of adolescents ages 11-15, by making it "cool" to be more active, watch less TV, shorten video game play and make healthier food choices.
